Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify potential hazards and safety concerns.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees on topics such as emergency response, accident prevention, and workplace ergonomics.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with management, supervisors, and employees to promote awareness and accountability for safety performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to workplace safety.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
- Certification as a Safety Professional (e.g., CSP, ASP, or similar) is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in a relevant industry.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
